Join the Young Professionals of Comox Valley as we host “Quick Connections at Wayward Distillation”, a speed networking event bringing together talent from up and down Vancouver Island.

Tickets are $10 for non-members, free for members of the Young Professionals Organizations. Proceeds from ticket sales will go to our supported cause: The Comox Valley Child Development Association.

Bring your elevator pitch and get ready to meet individuals looking to build upon their current network. Share ideas, build rapport and learn about some of the other exciting businesses and opportunities our communities have to offer!

Held at Wayward Distillation, this night promises to be entertaining and informative, a DJ on site will keep everyone entertained as we enjoy light fare and get to know other go getters in the area and have a taste of the amazing products Wayward works so hard to produce!

Philanthropy can be an exceptional catalyst for change, and on Vancouver Island, we have a vibrant culture of giving that has transformed many areas of our society. Join Jessica Bell, Director of Development at Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island as she shares her personal experiences with philanthropy and the impact she has seen it have on the children, youth and families in our community. Learn simple steps you can take to connect your values to causes you love and explore real-life scenarios of philanthropy in action.

Facilitator Bio: Jessica Bell, Director of Development, Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island, is a passionate fundraising professional who has maintained a keen focus on health related issues affecting children, families and seniors in our community. She has worked extensively with philanthropists across Vancouver Island and before her current role as Director of Development at the Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island, she led strategic regional fundraising efforts for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Vancouver Island Office and played a significant role in the $200 million fundraising campaign to build a new hospital. Jessica is well respected in the fundraising community for her professionalism and integrity. Jessica is a member of both the Canadian Association of Gift Planners and the Association of Fundraising Professionals and maintains an active Certified Fund Raising Executive designation.  She is the incoming Chair of the 2017 National Philanthropy Day celebrations in Victoria and believes strongly in the impact philanthropy can have in the community.
